Emergency Equipment in Engine Room, Inert Gas system, Steering Gear room


All safety equipment should always be kept in readiness.

They should be tried out in drills.

Crew member should be familiarize with starting/stopping/operational procedure.

Safety officer should check these equipment and if any defect is noticed, Master should be informed ASAP.

Risk Assessment should be made.

Master should  inform Company, PSC and if required dispensation from Class is taken.
