Please make sure everyone, including oilers, knows how to
fill work and rest hours and how to make risk assessment.
Please make sure you are thoroughly reading the ISM
manual and conversant with PMS.
There are a few core questions. These core questions are
basically from Defect Management and PMS. They will go deep. For example,
if a defect is observed what you will do, then who will inform the class where
it's written, after informing class what action superintendent has taken, where
is the record, etc. After the defect is rectified, what you will do. Etc.
Please make sure lube and fuel oil analysis reports are
ready and you are ready to show the required information in the ISM
manual.
Welding equipment's are upto the mark. And fitter knows
how to make RA, etc. Company's policy on welding in written form.
The maximum voltage of the welding equipment is less than
70 VDC and 25VAC. Properly earthed etc etc. Gas cutting equipment, all are
below 5 years old. Including hoses, regulators, etc.
Make sure ORB is up to date. And you know the capacity of
OWS and incinerator.
Old BDNs are well arranged.
At least 3rd officer knows how to Start Emergency Diesel
Generator. Whoever the junior officer in EDG room, he will ask him to
start.
Rest are common. OMD, BILGE. DEAD MAN ALARM, RECORD OF
FIRE ALARM testing. Etc.
